Public Design is an independent charity with the founding purpose of tackling complex socio-economic and ecological challenges through sustainable, human-centred, and participatory design practices.
Public Design started as a research and consultancy institution Public Design Lab Ltd in 2018, with a primary focus on promoting and developing inclusive public environments, facilities, and street furniture. Inspired by the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Public Design is an extension of the company’s remit to serve the needs of the deprived and support social organisations to maximise their impact through design strategies that stimulate economic growth, address social needs, and enforce environmental protection.
We aim to inspire new ideas, encourage public dialogue, and inform government policy through the power of design thinking. We build on past successes to help improve lives today and meet the challenges of tomorrow. From education and equality to health and well-being, we are always taking action on sustainable projects to better our city and our world.
